Competitive advantages and cost reductions through in-house energy generation
Operating a solar photovoltaic system (41 kW), our affiliated company CMS Dachkeramik has just installed a new cogeneration / combined heat and power unit (14 kWe; 35 kWt) to significantly improve its own energy consumption rate for the production of brick specials.
The generated heat is used to optimise the drying process of the brick specials whereas the generated electricity is directly consumed during the production process. With the in-house energy generation, CMS Dachkeramik achieve a greater independence from steadily rising energy costs. Having gained economic benefits already, they entailed a long-term competitive advantage.
In addition to the economic benefits, CMS Dachkeramik will reduce its CO2 emissions and will therefore actively contribute to climate protection.
