A building is not necessarily needed to generate solar power. Solar PV systems are also operated on open spaces. Due to the usable surface, stand-alone installations tend to be larger than most other solar PV systems.

At stand-alone installation will also be individually designed as it does not depend on a particular roof inclination or cardinal direction, but on individual needs. Therefore, all stand-alone installation are designed to optimize the solar power outputs.
